Showcase your creativity: Enter the Margaret Harvin Wilson Writing Award!
The Department of English invites submissions for the 2026 Margaret Harvin Writing Award, recognizing outstanding creative and critical work by Georgia College & State University undergraduate students who are enrolled in the arts, humanities, social sciences or physical sciences.
If you like to write, this is your chance to let your creative works shine!
CATEGORIES AND LENGTHS: Please only submit one entry per category.
- Poetry: Up to three poems, maximum five pages
- Fiction / Creative nonfiction: One piece, maximum 20 pages, double spaced
- Drama: One-act play, maximum 20 pages
Finalists will receive a cash award in recognition of outstanding writing. All finalists must be present at the Awards Ceremony, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 5 to 6:15 p.m. in the Pat Peterson Museum Education Room.
The ceremony will feature readings by finalists, remarks by faculty judges and the presentation of awards by the President.
