Invitation: Faculty Learning Community on Teaching Digital Humanities
The Digital Humanities Collaborative invites faculty to join a new Faculty Learning Community (FLC) on Teaching and Integrating Digital Humanities in Spring 2026.
As digital tools and methods increasingly shape research, communication and creative inquiry, this FLC will provide a collaborative space for faculty to explore how Digital Humanities approaches can enrich teaching and scholarship. Participants will begin with shared discussions of What We Teach When We Teach DH, designed to help readers think through the theory and praxis of DH pedagogy. CTL will further support the purchase of a discipline-specific book for each member text that aligns with their own courses or research interests.
This FLC is designed for faculty at all levels of DH experience—whether you are experimenting with DH for the first time, considering a course revision, or looking to expand existing DH practices. Participants will leave the FLC having outlined new pedagogical materials, strengthened cross-disciplinary connections, and a shared understanding of how DH can support student learning at GCSU.
If you are interested in joining, contact Jamie Downing at jamie.downing@gcsu.edu by Dec. 12. Please include a brief explanation (no more than 100 words) of your experience with DH and goals in joining the FLC.
