Free tax preparation services available for Milledgeville residents

Free, professional‑grade tax preparation is now available to Milledgeville area residents thanks to a partnership between Georgia College & State University and United Way. Through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, qualified taxpayers can receive expert help filing their 2025 tax returns at no cost.

This program helps individuals and families save hundreds of dollars in preparation fees while ensuring they receive every credit and deduction they qualify for. With double the number of IRS‑certified tax preparers this year, even more community members can take advantage of this valuable service.

Tax preparation assistance is available to:

  • Individuals and families who meet income qualifications.
  • Seniors.
  • Persons with disabilities.
  • Those with limited English proficiency.
