"An Unexpected Journey" with Honors Alumni Award Recipient Sam Rauschenberg

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m., the Honors College's 2025-2026 Alumni Achievement Award Recipient Sam Rauschenberg ('07 Economics) will share his journey from being an economics major who napped in his history classes to becoming a writer who explores overlooked stories of the South. Along the way, he will tell some of those stories, including the time when Georgia’s governor imprisoned a Christian missionary where the Georgia College & State University College of Arts & Sciences Building now stands. Most importantly, he will discuss what he has learned along the way and how the past affects the present. Mr. Rauschenberg's session — "An Unexpected Journey: How a Tenth-Generation Southerner Came to Wrestle with the South's Legacy and Why It Matters Today" — will be held via Zoom. All are welcome.
