Deshona Gaither named to the All-Peach Belt second team 

AUGUSTA, Ga. | Georgia College & State University women's basketball senior guard Deshona Gaither has been named to the All-Peach Belt Conference second team.

It's the third consecutive year that a Bobcat has been named to one of the three all-conference teams and the second straight year that GCSU has had a player named to the second team.

Gaither, who is from Commerce, Georgia, started 26 of the 27 games she has played. She leads the Bobcats and is ninth in the Peach Belt in scoring (13.3). She also is tops for the Bobcats in field goals made (114), free throws made (115), free throws attempted (156), free throw shooting (.737), assists (70) and steals (61). Gaither is third in the league in free throw made and attempted, fifth in steals and 10th in free throw shooting.

Jones was named the league's Player of the Week Feb. 23. She has scored 20 or more points six times this season, including a career-high 33 points in an overtime win over Shorter University.

The Bobcats, who are currently on a four-game winning streak, return to action Wednesday (March 4) when they travel to Bluffton, South Carolina, to face the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in a 5:30 p.m. quarterfinal game of the 2026 Peach Belt Tournament.
