Chemistry undergrads present at PITTCON, the world's largest analytical chemistry conference
Congratulations to the six Chemistry majors who represented Georgia College & State University in San Antonio, Texas, at PITTCON, the world's largest analytical chemistry conference. The following students presented their original undergraduate research at the conference:
Seniors Sophia Meere, Carter Barnes and Bailey Dassow
Juniors Morgan Collins, Thomas Rice and Camille Hodek
The students were mentored in their research by Drs. Lisse, McGill and Rosado.
Not only did the students successfully present their projects, but also represented GCSU in networking with numerous companies and organizations. One of the companies - LECO Mobile Analytical Labs - is making a special stop in Milledgeville on Tuesday, March 24, from 3 to 4:40 p.m. The LECO Mobile Lab will be parked as the Bell Hall bus stop and available for students to tour.
According to LECO, any interested students are welcome to tour the Mobile Lab to learn about “elemental analysis via combustion, TGA, GC-TOFMS, and automated Vicker hardness testing which are heavily used in industries in Georgia.”
