Georgia College students rank #1 among U.S. universities in SAP North American ERPsim Competition
A team of five students from Georgia College & State University claimed the top spot among United States universities at the SAP North American ERPsim Competition, finishing 4th overall.
The team, representing the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology's Information Systems & Computer Science Department, competed against universities across North America in the simulation, which challenges students to manage a manufacturing company using SAP's enterprise resource planning system. Participants must apply real-time data analytics and strategic thinking to maximize net profits and overall company valuation.
The competition was hosted by ERPsim Lab at HEC Montréal and brought together top business and technology programs from across the continent. GCSU's team was the highest-ranked United States university in the final standings.
The team was coached by Dr. Joy Godin, who dedicated months of preparation beginning in fall 2025, guiding students through practice rounds, dashboard development and competitive strategy, all while students balanced a full academic course load.
Throughout the experience, these students developed valuable skills in using reports and analytics to make strategic, data-driven decisions that impact net profits and overall company valuation. Each team member brought a distinct contribution: Ezra Ryall led production operations; Andrea Barnett, Ashley Beaty and Gracie Taylor managed strategy, logistics and marketing; and Carley Perez oversaw pricing, capital investment and loan repayment while sustaining strong company valuation throughout the simulation. Alternate Tucker Carl Balch served as a competitor during practice rounds and helped the team refine their overall strategy. Congratulations to this wonderful team and our talented students!
