The Declaration Comes to Milledgeville — July 10 at 5 p.m.

Celebrate America 250 at Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion with "The Declaration Comes to Milledgeville," featuring a live reading of the Declaration of Independence, a short historic procession and a Revolutionary-era farewell to King George III.

Presented in collaboration with Georgia College & State University's Special Collections, this commemorative event is inspired by the public readings that helped spread the news of independence in 1776 and invites guests to hear history aloud on the Mansion steps and join in a hearty “Huzzah!”

This event is free and open to the public. In the event of extreme heat or inclement weather, the program will be moved inside to the Mansion rotunda.
