Open Enrollment and Benefits Fair

Welcome to a new academic year! Even though we are just getting started, it's time to mark your calendars for a couple of benefit-related events later this fall.

Annual Open Enrollment will take place Oct. 26 - Nov. 6, 2026. This is the two-week period all full-time, benefit-eligible employees get to review their existing benefits coverage, reference any changes to plans that will go into effect during calendar year 2027, and make any updates they'd like. The USG has not released information on whether or not there will be any changes for 2027, but as soon as they do, we will circulate that information to campus. 

If you are considering retirement in 2027, the elections you make during this upcoming Open Enrollment season may be very important for you! If you are curious about what benefits may look like for you in retirement and you are within three (3) years of being eligible to retire, please contact benefits@gcsu.edu. Not sure if/when you're eligible for retirement? Feel free to ask! We'll review the details of your employment alongside BOR 08.02.08.02 - Definition of a USG Retiree and Eligibility for Health Benefits Upon Retirement. 

• Note: These requests often take time to respond to. We may have to complete a detailed analysis of your employment history, and this is not always a quick process. 

The Benefits Fair will take place the morning of Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, in Magnolia Ballroom. Additional information on specific hours and which vendors will be attending are forthcoming.
