GCSU Creative Writing Program's Visiting Writers Series: Peter Selgin with MFA graduate students, Ash Earnhardt and Richard Lassiter 

Former Georgia College & State University Professor and established author, Peter Selgin, will be reading with MFA graduate students, Ash Earnhardt and Richard Lassiter, for the upcoming event in the GCSU Creative Writing Program's Visiting Writers Series:

Peter Selgin is the author of Painting Stories: A Life in Pictures and Word (Serving House Books, 2026), a memoir told through more than one hundred full-color paintings paired with mini-essays. His story collection, Drowning Lessons, won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction, and he is also the author of novels, essay collections, books on the craft of writing and several children’s books. His memoir, The Inventors, won the 2017 Housatonic Book Award; his novel, Duplicity, won the Best Indie Book Award; and his novel, A Boy’s Guide to Outer Space, was a runner-up for the Townsend Prize for Fiction. His play, A God in the House, won the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference award. His visual art has appeared in The New Yorker, Forbes, Gourmet, The Wall Street Journal, and in exhibits throughout the country. After many years teaching creative writing at Georgia College, he lives in Milledgeville, Georgia, and Granada, Spain.

This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event, and a signing will follow.
