Small Group Instructional Diagnosis Facilitato Training 

As interest in Small Group Instructional Diagnosis continues to grow, the Center for Teaching and Learning is expanding the team of trained SGID administrators. Join our SGID training and become part of efforts to support teaching excellence and student success.

SGID is a confidential, formative mid-semester feedback process that provides instructors with meaningful, actionable insights while there is still time to make improvements. During an SGID, a trained facilitator builds consensus through conversation with students, gathering feedback about what is helping them learn, what could be improved, how those improvements might be implemented and how students themselves can contribute to a successful learning environment.

Unlike end-of-course evaluations, SGID provides instructors with timely feedback they can immediately apply to enhance teaching and learning. After the classroom visit, the facilitator meets privately with the instructor to review the findings. Results remain confidential and are shared only with the instructor.

By becoming an SGID facilitator, you'll provide a valuable service to your colleagues and the university while helping foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and student-centered teaching.
