YOUR GIFT PREPARES OUR SCHOLAR-ATHLETES TO GO PRO IN LIFE!
MEET RACHEL BLACK. A junior student-athlete from Valdosta, Georgia, Rachel is currently a force on the tennis court and is preparing to impact the world beyond it in a big way.
At Georgia College & State University, athletics is about more than competition. It’s about helping student-athletes go pro in life. Our Bobcats are future doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, business leaders, artists and community leaders. Their time as student-athletes gives them options to "do more, learn more, and seize more opportunities to make a positive difference in the world"; and Rachel is doing just that.
Beyond the tennis court, Rachel is building leadership and service proficiencies as a Community Advisor, GCSU Ambassador and member of the Georgia Educators Mentorship Program. These experiences and more are honing the skills Rachel can apply to her future goals. For instance, after graduation, Rachel plans to attend dental school to become a dentist, continuing her passion for serving and improving the welfare of those in her community.
Your generosity helps student-athletes, like Rachel, maximize their experience at GCSU, pursue their passions, and gear up for what comes next; because the goal isn’t just to go pro in sports; it’s to go pro in life!
Support Athletics Day of Giving on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
