GCSU Department of Public Safety celebrates leadership milestone as Captains Grant and Purvis complete FBI-LEEDA Trilogy
The Georgia College & State University (GCSU) Department of Public Safety is proud to recognize Capt. Joe Grant and Capt. Gary Purvis for completing the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Trilogy, a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for law enforcement professionals.
The FBI-LEEDA Trilogy consists of three leadership development programs: the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI), the Command Leadership Institute (CLI) and the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). Together, these programs provide law enforcement personnel with practical leadership strategies, professional development and the skills necessary to lead teams, manage organizational challenges and support the continued growth of their agencies.
Leadership development is an essential component of effective law enforcement. As the demands on public safety professionals continue to evolve, investing in leadership education helps agencies strengthen accountability, improve decision-making, develop personnel and prepare the next generation of leaders. These efforts ultimately contribute to a stronger organization and better service to the community.
The completion of the Trilogy by Captains Grant and Purvis also marks an important milestone for GCSU Public Safety. With their achievement, every sworn member of the department's command staff has completed all three FBI-LEEDA leadership programs. This accomplishment reflects the department's commitment to professional excellence and the belief that effective leadership begins with continued learning and development. Completion of nationally recognized leadership training by Captains Grant and Purvis marks a significant achievement for the department and its commitment to developing leaders.
That commitment extends beyond the command staff. The department's frontline supervisors are also well on their way to completing the Trilogy, reinforcing an organizational approach that emphasizes leadership development at every level. By equipping supervisors with the tools to mentor employees, guide daily operations and make sound decisions, the department continues to build a stronger foundation for long-term success.
The department congratulates Captains Grant and Purvis on this significant professional accomplishment and recognizes all personnel who continue to invest in their development as leaders, mentors and public safety professionals.
At GCSU Public Safety, leadership is more than a position or a title. It is an ongoing commitment to learning, serving others, and becoming better every day.
