Students, faculty and staff are invited to the First Day of Class Pep Rally! It will be held Monday, Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Front Campus. To kick off the start of the school year there will be King of Pops, a 360-photo booth and a motivational speech at noon from the one and only President Cox. 

Come out and enjoy live music from the band The Stews. There will also be Bobcat Marketplace for all students to learn more about all our different student organizations here at Georgia College & State University. There will also be fun attractions, Kona Ice and much more. 

Week of Welcome is an immersive experience that showcases the unique and multifaceted culture of Georgia College & State University. It is always a time to get acquainted with the GCSU campus community, to make new connections, to get involved and to explore the different parts of campus. Russell Library is experiencing an interruption in Interlibrary Loan services. Dr. Scott Buchanan, professor of Political Science, was the featured speaker last week at the Coastal Georgia Historical Society's annual Chautauqua Lecture Series. The series features scholars and authors from around the nation, and this year's series focuses upon pivotal elections in U.S. political history. Dr. Buchanan's talk was titled "Georgia’s Gubernatorial Election of 1946: The Triumph of Rural Georgia." A link to the talk may be found here:  https://vimeo.com/event/1195663.
