Georgia College & State University’s economic impact in Central Georgia jumped to $308 million in 2023, up 1.8% over the previous year.That figure marks a 9% increase—$26 million—over the past three years.The university continues to create jobs in the area, as well. From GMC Campus Police: celebratory cannon fire Friday morningOn Friday morning, August 16, between 11:05 and 11:15 a.m. there will be three cannons fired on Greene Street by the National Guard. The cannon fire will be loud and heard throughout the area of downtown Milledgeville and the GMC and GCSU campuses.
