As we move into cooler weather, some people may be using small space heaters. Please do not plug the heaters into surge protectors. Heaters need to be plugged straight into an electrical wall outlet. This is because a power strip doesn't have a high enough current flow to support the electrical needs of a space heater, causing it to overheat and possibly lead to a fire.

Macros are wonderful indicators of water quality! Stop by the Fountain Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. to find a few macroinvertebrates from Lake Laurel. GCSU Thirst for Knowledge will be tabling at the Fountain with some freshly caught macros. Learn how they can be indicators of water quality, how you can get involved and try your hand at identifying one or two!
