Macros are wonderful indicators of water quality! Stop by the Fountain Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. to find a few macroinvertebrates from Lake Laurel. GCSU Thirst for Knowledge will be tabling at the Fountain with some freshly caught macros. Learn how they can be indicators of water quality, how you can get involved and try your hand at identifying one or two!

Through the Georgia College & State University Thirst for Knowledge Program, you can become Georgia Adopt-a-Stream certified in these upcoming trainings. the Macroinvertebrate Training will be offered Friday, Oct. 13, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Lake Laurel Lodge (Register here: https://givepul.se/qel9d6). Do you want to learn more about campus while making a positive impact?  Join us this Friday (October 13) for Chemical Monitoring of Champion Creek out at Lake Laurel (9 a.m. - 10 a.m.), GCSU's East Campus and/or Tobler Creek at Andalusia (10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.).  No experience necessary. Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes that can get wet. We will use Georgia Adopt-a-Stream methods to test temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity and pH of the streams all while enjoying the beauty...
