Monday, Sept. 15 A Guest Artist Recital, “An American Salon Recital,” featuring Nathan Southwick, violin, as well as faculty pianists Lev Ryabinin and Hue Jang, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall at Georgia College & State University. This performance of Romantic 20th century music will feature mostly American short pieces and also the lovely middle violin sonata of Brahms. Tuesday, Sept. 2 A Faculty Chamber Recital, “Voice of the Whale,” will be at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall at Georgia College & State University. The faculty members Rebecca Cooke, clarinet; Laurie Peebles, flute; Steven Taylor, cello; and Hue Jang, piano will perform Classical and 20th Century music.   The trio by Beethoven is playful, while the “Voice of the Whale,” by George Crumb is mystical and a fantasy-like.
