HIGH DEMAND ALERT: Electricity Usage for Wednesday, January 17

Georgia Power has issued an Alert for Wednesday, Jan. 17, as the extremely cold temperatures trigger high demand across the regional power grid. This is resulting in exceptionally high peak-hour pricing, particularly during the morning hours of 7 a.m. through 12 p.m.

The campus community is asked to shut down non-essential lighting and unplug non-essential equipment during this peak period Wednesday morning. If you have access to windows, please use natural light. Turn lights off when you leave your office or classroom. Avoid using portable heaters and shut off unnecessary appliances.

The Office of Sustainability and Facilities Management thanks everyone for your cooperation and understanding.
