Saturday, Oct. 14 Georgia College & State University’s three choral ensembles will present a combined concert at 7:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 330 S. Liberty Street. “Epic Myths and Legends” will feature choral works about mythology and folklore. These stories come from a variety of cultures including Alaska Native, First Nations, Greek, Haitian, Italian, Native American, Norse, Onondaga Nation, Scottish, Taiwanese and Yoruban. This one-day event is a chance for high school students to meet and work with Georgia College & State University music faculty, other high school singers and the Max Noah Singers. The day includes rehearsals, a vocal masterclass, lunch with Max Noah Singers, more rehearsals and a campus tour. Thursday, Oct. 5, music faculty Bryan Emmon Hall and Owen Lovell will perform on violin and piano for “Wandering Hearts,” a romantic recital at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. The title is also the name of a piece written by faculty David H. Johnson that will be featured, along with another composition by Cèsar Franck written as a wedding gift. Tuesday, Oct. 3, Georgia College & State University’s Saxophone Studio Recital will be at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. Sunday, Sept. 24 Georgia College & State University’s annual Piano Studio recital will feature the “Music of Women Composers” at 3 p.m. in Magnolia Ballroom in the Student Activity Center.
