Urgent need of assistance:Based on weather forecasted this week as the hottest week of the year, so far, demand on the power grid has increased to $1.50/kilowatt hour, a significant increase from the normal rate. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer break. As is normal for the summer as temperatures increase, so does electricity cost to the university. Electricity costs are on the rise as of this week with elevated pricing currently at $.35 per kilowatt hour (an increase of about $.32 higher than normal). With most buildings are less occupied than normal, a few energy-saving tasks are being requested in an effort at reducing energy consumption and costs. Your assistance is greatly appreciated...

Maldonado was a 2013 graduate of Georgia College & State University, with a major in environmental science and a minor in geology. The GCSU West Campus Garden is opening up for the Summer Rental Program. There are spaces available in raised beds and open row garden at a cost of $10 per space. Students are not charged this fee as they are already charged a fee when they pay their tuition. Availability is first come, first serve.
