The Department of Continuing & Professional Education is hiring student assistants to work this spring and summer. Apply by Feb. 14, 2024. A student assistant performs a variety of support duties including but not limited to data entry, customer service, registration system reporting and assisting program coordinators with assorted tasks. Join us for beginning ballroom dance on Wednesday nights, beginning Jan. 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Miller Dance Studio. Presented by the department of continuing education, we are beginning with swing dance, and we will progress through lots of other dance steps. No experience necessary, no pressure. A new grant program at Georgia College & State University gives Central Georgia residents the opportunity to take a free certification course in solar and green technology. It will also provide the tools for starting their own businesses. The 40-hour course, “An Introduction to Solar Technology and Entrepreneurship,” launches in January through Georgia College’s Department of Continuing and Professional Education. It’s paid from a $100,000 grant from the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation...

Join us Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for a day of foraging at Andalusia Farm: The Home of Flannery O’Connor. We'll explore the fields and fence lines of Andalusia Farm in search of edible treasures (and maybe see a peafowl or two). We will end the morning at the pond with a light snack of jams, jellies and honey locally foraged by our facilitators served atop homemade bread and washed down with teas prepared from items we collect along the way.
